Morgan is no stranger to adversity, it is the before that truly disturbs him. Enforcing Home is about today, the hard life of attacking, being attacked, building bunkers, community gardening and infectious disease. Everyone cannot live in a world like this, some people just need killing. Who will survive?
Resurrecting Home takes us into the halfway point of The Survivalist Series. Book five of a ten book series, A. American understood the dangers of the story losing traction and becoming stale. It seems he took great care in keeping the story moving at an interesting pace while staying true to relationships built and introducing new people and challenges into the mix.
Two years after "The Day", One Year After takes us on a rollercoaster ride of love, war, patriotism, deceit, unbreakable respect and friendship. A community so strong and proud, so determined to survive that they lost touch with what it means to have the odds set against you. Now they have to face their biggest threat of all. Bigger than the cannibals. Bigger than the Reivers. How can you fight a true military force?
Forsaking Home is book number four of The survivalist Series. The EMP attack has the County in a vulnerable spot and the DHS is fully taking advantage of that. They may have had a hand in the attack. They are now the enemy. Just when you think the government can't get any worse, they go and stick Jess in a cold dark cell. Morgan has his hand's full at their new home after they had to bugout. Sarge, with the support of what's left of the military, is ready to show the DHS that there are still people ready, willing and capable of fighting back.
In Escaping Home, Morgan survives a 250-mile walk home in book one only to bug-out in book three. That sits just fine for me because there's action in movement. Escaping Home is loaded with action both good and bad. Morgan, with the help of Thad, Danny and even Sarge, begin moving things to their new home. Jess is stuck in the FEMA camp, basically as a prisoner. She makes a few friends in the camp but is having a tough time conforming and making some powerful enemies.
Morgan makes it home after a 250-mile walk and finds his family safe and sound but the World is a dangerous place now. It doesn't take long for Morgan to realize that it's going to take a lot more than his preps to keep his family safe. Book two of The Survivalist Series brings Morgan, Thad and Sarge into the fold as they attempt to push back on a corrupt government, the DSH, with everything they have. Book two of The Survivalist Series brings Morgan, Thad and Sarge back together as they attempt to push back on a corrupt government, the DSH, with everything they have. Sarge is a retired First Sargent thrown back into service in his fifties and seems to enjoy every second of it. You'll see a lot of "Sarge" action in Surviving Home.
The Last Survivors is a different type of post-apocalyptic story. This story-line is set 300 years after the world ended as we know it. Now imagine those survivors were so few that no one was left to run the world. Things like electricity, running water, machines, electronics, even modern construction and medical care - all gone.
